I’m really excited to announce that after huge demand I am delighted to be able to start offering my watercolour paintings for sale through my Etsy shop – The Studio.

Rebecca Newport grew up in the beautiful and inspiring London suburb of Kew Gardens. Encouraged by her mother from an early age to paint and draw she went on to study Textile design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, part of the The University of the Arts London. After graduating Rebecca worked in retail buying for a few years and then turned her attention to styling for interiors, still life and food. For the past four years Rebecca has worked as a stylist and now has a portfolio of international brands and magazines under her belt including Dulux Paint and House and Garden Magazine. After recently moving back to her childhood home in Kew she has begun to paint watercolours inspired by her surrondings. Colour and pattern remains a real focus of Rebecca’s paintings as does the desire to reinvent and give a modern twist to the watercolour technique.

Dulux Paint – Colour Futures 2013

Back in the Spring of this year I was honoured to be asked by Dulux Paint to work with them on their new colour trends book for 2013. Perhaps even more exciting was that despite my love of styling room sets they wanted me to instead create pieces of ‘art’ to visually work alongside one of their particular trends ‘The Art of Understanding’ which focuses deconstructing objects to gain a greater understanding of them.

So I wanted to share these images with you from the new Colour Futures trends book which has just launched and will be going out designers, architects, creatives etc in over 30 different countries.
